Ladies, Gentlemen, & other assorted friends, enemies, hangers-on, & general ne'er-do-wells!
Sorry it has been so long since our last update, but the time has just flown (in a car) by for June & I. So far, we have gone just over 4,000 miles & traveled thru Ca, Az, Nm, Tx, La, Al, Fl, Ga, SC, NC, & finally into Va.
One thing we have determined for sure, is that red-necks are not on the endangered species list. If anything, I am putting my money on them actually becoming the most prevalent human (?) grouping on earth. For one thing, they breed faster than rabbits, or hamsters, & they still haven't figured out what is causing it. Also, having only two teeth, & being both the father, & the brother to some of your relatives seems to produce a certain amount of pride in them. In addition, every woman seems required to produce at least 10 - 15 screaming rug rats, curtain grabbers, skirt hangers, or snot drizzlers...most of which are wearing 2 - 3 day old REALLY SMELLY-DIRTY diapers, if they are wearing anything at all. And, it's a lucky dad who has at least 4 - 6 of his own sons who are all named Bubba. Makes a feller get kinda choked up just thinkin' bout it.
Well, gotta run for now (June's 12 year old 4th cousin on her great aunt Nellie Bell's (I always thought that was Roy Roger's side-kicks jeep?) is starting to talk about things I've only heard discussed about certain farm animals and/or side show acts, and I'm starting to get a little nervous. They certainly grow up (out?) fast down here, & I'm feeling kinda intimidated about being taught new tricks by a 12 year old. June, however, is smiling an awful lot, & looking downright perky about the 15 year old that keeps bringing her sweet tea & asking if there is anything he can "teach, or assist" her with to help her adjust to the south. I'm starting to think it's not the sweet tea that is causing that silly grin she constantly has on her face lately.
Ok, now lets get to the truth of the matter. Ken is full of S_ _ _. He is so off the wall that now you can see what I have to put with in the car each and every day. Let me tell you, I long for the stop in the evening so I don't have to put up with his BULL. Sorry we have been so lax in getting updates to you, but with this hot, humid weather I was completely worn out at the end of the day from trying to see everything in sight.
We loved New Orleans, but it was so hot it was hard trying to walk all over the French Quarter to see everything. By the end of the day I just wanted to get in a cold bath and soak all night.
We then went to visit our friends Kathy and Rick in Mobile. The Southern hospitality is sure enforced down there. We had a wonderful time seeing everything and having some of the most delicious Southern cooking. Went to Biloxi, Gulf Shores and all around Mobile. Must say it rained every day and night. Can't thank them enough for putting up with KEN.......
Will continue this later as Justin is calling me to play 5 Crowns.....Get back to you soon. Love, June & the old fart.
