Busy, Busy, Busy

Boy, since we arrived at the kids house, we have been on the go. Justin was still playing baseball, so there were practices and then the championship game. What fun it was being able to see him play. He hit a triple and drove in a run, then scored on the next hit. They were leading all the way through until the last inning when some of the other teams big hitters were able to connect with the ball. Must say, Justin's team had one outstanding pitcher who went all the way. Justin, has such a good throwing arm, they put him on 1st base. Mom and dad were also notified that he was selected to play on the All-Star team, so their baseball isn't through yet. He will be practicing all the time now, and their 1st game isn't until the first part of July. Now we wish we didn't have to leave so could continue to watch him play.

We can't thank Edward and Shelle enough for letting us crash at their home until our hotel reservation was available. They have taken us everywhere and it has been so wonderful just being with them and the kids. We really feel lucky with all of the family and friends we have had the fortune to stay with and hopefully not make a pest of ourselves. Now Ken is another story, he makes sure he is a pest to everyone, and makes sure he gets in his kidding. Sometimes I'm happy when others are around as I then get a reprieve. Only sometimes, that is.

Everyone finally arrived from good old California. For all of us, the weather is warm and humid. We had a great get-together the day before the BIG GRADUATION. They had tables and canopies set up outside with food and drinks galore. It was a great time had by all.

Now, for the reason we took this wonderful trip -- BRANDON'S GRADUATION--. It was truly a great ceremony. They had about 280 some students who received their diploma's, and their school was amazing with regards to all of the awards the students racked up. The students also received over 3.2 million dollars in grants and scholarships, and are going to colleges and universities all over the US and also to a few foreign countries. Their school was also picked by Newsweek as one on the TOP high schools in the country. Now it is off to Syacruse and a whole new adventure for him.

We have been busy going places and seeing some of the sites we haven't seen before. Even with the GPS, we have managed to get lost now and then. However, we are having one great adventure after another, and know when we leave here on Friday we will be heading home. Just hope we don't run into any bad weather and those dreadful tornadoes won't be around.

Well, we will be pulling out the maps again and looking to see where we will be heading. Know our next stop will be to see Ken's family outside of Nashville, but the route we will take is still undetermined. There is just so much to see in this part of the country that we will have to venture back this way again. Maybe in the fall when the weather is cooler and the leaves start to turn those beautiful colors.

It will be hard leaving everyone, but had a great time while it lasted.
